Unique Fusion of Spanish Tapas Dishes and Japanese Ingredients
After a 6 year stint at Tetsuya's, Hiro Takagi has opened Japaz, a Japanese/Spanish tapas restaurant in Neutral Bay.
Tapas are essentially small snacks or appetisers that are often combined to make a full meal. Tapeo (the art of eating tapas) has always been a way of life in Spain, but has recently taken the rest of the world by storm. Now Tapas dining comes to Neutral Bay, Sydney, albeit with a unique twist. Spanish style dishes incorporating Japanese ingredients and seasonal local ingredients.
Innovative Seasonal Tapas Dishes
Expect to find a range of innovative seasonal Tapas dishes featuring fresh local ingredients such as Wagyu cheek as well as Spanish staples such as chorizo and anchovies. Be surprised at how well Japanese ingredients can be used to add an additional flavour dimension to the Tapas experience.
Desert of ice cream served on Manchego cheese with praline crumbs may sound a little odd, but this flavour sensation is well worth a try!

Vibrant Casual Atmosphere
As you would expect from a Tapas restaurant, the atmosphere is casual and vibrant, with a bit of extra buzz generated by the open kitchen. Service is friendly and knowledgeable and the winelist thoughtful, with a number of quality wines available by the glass
