THE WEAVERS
Over 25 years, Robyn Cosgrove has fostered strong, enduring links with a targeted number of credible and ethical weaving houses around the world. Each of the weaving houses that Robyn Cosgrove selects to work with consists of a small number of highly skilled weavers dedicated to preserving the traditional weaving techniques of their respective cultures, and as such their aim is to provide ongoing quality whilst adhering to strict social responsibilities.
Refusing to draw product from large weaving companies, whose greed often means that children are exploited under terrible factory conditions, Robyn Cosgrove is committed to supporting the weaving communities from which her designs are created. In Nepal she supports the children of her weavers, providing clothing, education, and monitoring the general welfare of approximately 80 children, ranging from infants to 14 year olds.
