Application time takes only 5 - 10mins. Tan can be washed off 2 - 4 hours after application (depending on the depth of colour you desire) and colour will continue to develop for 24 hours afterwards. I use Aussie Bombshell products which is

Tans last between 8-10 days, depending on how well the tan is maintained.
